Flew with no radio on these solos today. The wind at ground level was dead calm. But everything above 100 feet was blowing 30mph north. I had to stay south of the field because I was afraid to overshoot the airport and not be able to return in the headwind. In fact, when facing into the wind, I could almost just hover in one spot.
