Flight #141

5 April 2025 • Dockweiler • Hang II - Novice

My 49th day of flying at Dockweiler. Had around 10 flights. That puts me at about 428+ flights at the beach. That makes about 455+ foot launch flights in total. Was a fairly strong wind day, but it was also very cross out of the south. We had to move to one of the more southern launches. In fact, with almost a 45 degree crosswind, it was probably the most cross conditions I've ever flown. However, it was very smooth and consistent wind, not gusting, so it wasn't too bad. I flew with about 4 other pilots including a new student named Cole and Kim Wright. All of my flights were quite good with the exception of one where the glider turned and I was not able to correct it. I ran all the way down the hill and lightly clipped the left wing on a dune, but just barely. My other launches and landings were all quite smooth and I was able to compensate for the crosswind without any problems.
